Witchcraft

Witchcraft is the practice of magic, especially black magic; the use of spells and the invocation of spirits.  Synonyms for magic are: “sorcery,” black magic “white magic,” magic, “witching,” “witchery,” and “wizardry.”

Magic is: The power of apparently influencing the course of events by using mysterious or supernatural forces.

Synonyms:   paranormal, psychic, magic, magical, occult, mystic, mystical, superhuman, super-normal

Unfortunately witchcraft (and other “powers” that imply the use of witchcraft, even if it is not specifically called that) can be found in much entertainment out there. Even rebellion is the same as practicing witchcraft (1 Samuel 15:23).

A pastor once said to me, “witchcraft is getting the demons to do what you want them to do.

People believe that witchcraft gives them real power. While true they have “power” from witchcraft, it really comes from Satan, and is regulated by God.

Satan cannot do anything to anybody without the Lord Jesus Christ’s approval. This is why no evil person can harm a true born-again Christian believer, unless the Lord wills it.
